I started this blog to write about the No More Page 3 Campaign. For those who don’t know, The Sun used to have a little bubble of news on P3 called ‘News in Briefs’, purportedly to give the model’s views on news, but actually to give everyone a laugh at the model’s expense. I chose the name because I wanted my blog to be the antithesis to what the ‘News in Briefs’ implied about women, and to challenge the sexist media culture that surrounds us.
The subject matter has expanded since then to include a wider range of subjects, but all of them from a feminist perspective. The No More Page 3 Campaign has achieved its aim, at least for the time being, but for a lot of people, including me, it has served as a gateway campaign which has led to an engagement with wider feminist issues.

Not The News in Briefs
